Hi there,
In lessons 1 and 2, your Sheet did the drafting: first draft listings, then draft descriptions. Today the data goes the other way: from your shop into a Sheet, so you can check what's already live.
Today: an SEO audit of all your listings at once.
Opening listings one by one to check titles and tags is slow, and it's easy to miss a duplicate tag or an empty tag slot. This recipe uses Make to copy every active listing's title and tags into a Google Sheet. Formula columns count the characters and tags and flag duplicates. Then you decide what to fix.
It's read-only. It doesn't change a single listing, and it doesn't look at anyone else's shop. It also won't promise better rankings. It just makes the checking faster.
What you'll need
- Make's free plan and the audit Sheet template. Make Free gives you 1,000 credits a month[price-check] and appears to allow only 2 active scenarios, according to a Make community forum report (not a Make pricing or help page). If you plan to run several of these recipes at the same time, that 2-scenario limit could matter. This one uses about 22 credits per audit of 20 listings run on demand, or about 95 of 1,000 credits a month run weekly (estimate, if run alone), and run on demand it doesn't need a switched-on scenario.
- Run it on demand, or weekly at most. Monthly is enough for most shops.
- About 20 minutes for setup (our estimate)
How you'll know it's working
After one run, the number of rows equals your active listing count in Shop Manager, no listing ID appears twice, and the title length, tag count and flags columns are filled in.
The three things most likely to trip you up
- Fewer rows than listings. Make only fetched the first page. Turn on pagination (or raise the limit) and re-run to a fresh tab.
- Duplicate rows when you run it again. Write each audit to a new dated tab, or clear the old rows first.
- Flags that seem off. The title-length threshold is a number you pick in the Sheet. It isn't an Etsy rule, so change it to suit you.
Time saved: about 35 minutes a week, Estimated. That assumes about 20 listings checked once a week at about 2 minutes each, minus about 5 minutes to read the Sheet. Making the edits stays manual. Most shops won't audit weekly, so your saving depends on how often you'd check.
