Hi there,

In lesson 1, a Sheet turned your rows into draft listings. Today it helps with the part many sellers find slowest: the listing description.

Today: AI drafts each description, and you review it first.

You type the facts about an item into a Google Sheet: what it is, who made it, materials, size, colors. Anything missing comes back as [ADD: …] instead of a guess. Mark the row "ready" and click Run once in Make. An AI step built into Make drafts a description from those facts only, and writes it into a review column. Nothing is published. You read the draft against your facts, fix anything wrong, then paste it into your listing, or into the lesson 1 Sheet to make a draft listing.

What you'll need

  • Make's free plan and the description Sheet template. The AI step uses Make's own AI Provider, so there's no extra account or API key. It costs about 1–2 Make credits per description (we'll confirm on the first test run), so 20–50 descriptions a month is about 25–105 of 1,000 credits (estimate, if run alone). Make Free gives you 1,000 credits a month[price-check] and appears to allow only 2 active scenarios, according to a Make community forum report (not a Make pricing or help page). If you plan to run several of these recipes at the same time, that 2-scenario limit could matter. Run on demand, this one doesn't need a switched-on scenario.
  • About 20 minutes for setup (our estimate)

The one rule: the AI only knows what you type. It can still get things wrong, so check every detail (materials, size, origin, "handmade") before you use a draft. If your item itself is made with AI, Etsy requires you to say so in the listing. Etsy's rules don't cover AI-written description text, but every description must be accurate, so review and edit each draft before you use it.

Never put buyer or order details in the Sheet.

Time saved: about 30 minutes a week, Estimated. That assumes 5 descriptions a week, about 10 minutes each from scratch versus about 4 minutes to check and edit a draft.
