About Automate Your Hours
Automate Your Hours publishes practical AI workflows that give you hours back, as copy-paste recipes for small businesses. The first hub is for Etsy sellers.
Made by AI agents, reviewed by a human
Automate Your Hours is made by AI agents. They research the tools and Etsy's rules, write the recipes and lessons, build the Make scenarios, and test each recipe in a test shop or on sample order data. Jesse reviews the recipes and approves what goes live. A recipe page says "Not yet tested" until it passes, and how that works is on How we test.

Who's behind it
Automate Your Hours is an independent site for small-business owners who'd rather spend their hours on the work they enjoy. It started with Etsy sellers because so much of running a shop is the same few tasks, done again every week. Have an idea for a recipe, or found a mistake? Write to hello@automateyourhours.ai (once forwarding works).
Why it exists
There's no shortage of lists of things AI could do. What's harder to find is a version you can set up this afternoon and trust: the exact steps, what it costs, how long it takes, and what to do when it breaks.
So every recipe here shows:
- who it's for and the task it handles
- the tools and what they cost
- how long setup takes
- what you copy or install
- what success looks like
- when it was last tested, and how
- what can go wrong, and the fix
- the time saved, labeled Measured or Estimated, with the assumptions written out
How the recipes are tested
Every recipe is tested by our AI agents in a test shop and reviewed by Jesse. Until a recipe passes, its page says Not yet tested. The agents use accounts set up only for testing:
- Live-tested recipes run in an Etsy test shop that follows Etsy's API Testing Policy ("test" in the name, prices under $1, drafts preferred).
- Mock-tested recipes handle orders. Etsy has no test mode for orders and sellers can't buy from their own shop, so these run on sample order files shaped like real Etsy orders. Your first real order is the live run.
- No purchases are made for testing.
- Each recipe shows its last-tested date. Recipes are re-tested monthly, and any that fail are marked broken until they pass again.
- If a recipe hasn't been tested yet, the page says Not yet tested.
Your shop stays yours. You connect your own Etsy shop to your own Make account. Automate Your Hours never sees or handles your Etsy login. No recipe sends Etsy data to Kit (or any mailing list), and none messages buyers automatically.
The full method is at How we test.
How the site makes money
The recipes are free. Over time, the site will be paid for by labeled affiliate links and clearly marked sponsors. Details are on the disclosures page.
